Item Description
Complete all around and in very good condition, this showy, three-dimensional cluster of Azurite crystals is from the well-known locality of Bou Beker, in Morocco. With very good luster and rich color, the intergrown and platy crystals form aggregates in two directions. The central crystals are more vertical, creating an unusual, edge-on look, while the peripheral Azurites radiate outwards like petals on a flower. Bright-green Malachites add just a dash of attractive contrast to the piece. Quality Azurite clusters are classic for Bou Beker, but the size and unusual aesthetics take this small-cabinet, violet 'sunflower' to a level above. From a 1980 discovery.
