Azurite with Malachite

It's rare to find specimens from the Apex Mine, just west of St. George, Utah on the market today. Here we have an impressive full-sized cabinet display specimen featuring flowing layers of gorgeous blue botryoidal Azurite mixed with complementary Malachite on a somewhat cavernous matrix. I love the fact that in certain areas of the specimen, the Azurite is atop the Malachite and the reverse is true in other places. The beautiful blue and green colors combined with the sculptural form of the piece make it a unique and desirable specimen that would fit wonderfully into a collection of secondary ore minerals or specimens from the southwestern United States. Good quality, and good sized for the locality. Valued on the old dealer label at $750, but I would put it higher in today's market.
