Item Description

Please note that this specimen came with a label stating it was simply "Tiger", so we don't know if it's specifically from the Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine or a lesser-known locality like the Mohawk Mine. The piece hosts very sharp, highly lustrous, well-formed, "sword"-shaped crystals of Azurite measring up to 1.1 cm associated with minor white Cerussite (partially coated by mint green Malachite) sitting on matrix. There are a few nicks here and there, so it's not completely damage free, but Azurites from Tiger are rare on the market, and one of the crystals on this piece is actually quite gemmy, which makes it pretty desirable in my mind. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3839). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
