Item Description

An attractive and fine quality toenail sized specimen from Tsumeb featuring a predominant, highly lustrous, deep midnight blue colored prismatic crystal of Azurite measuring 1.1 cm, flaring out of matrix, and associated with a beautiful "snowflake"-shaped twinned group of Cerussite measuring 9 mm across. The Azurite is slightly gemmy when strongly backlit, showing vivid indigo hues on the edges. Tsumeb minerals are among the most sought after and frankly beautiful specimens from any locality, and pieces like this are certainly a great example to support this statement.
From the collection of David E. Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background.
