Item Description

Azurite specimens are rare from this old magnetite iron deposit linked to skarns on the famous Elba Island started in the 1700s and finally closing in the 1950s. Limited copper mineralization was also noted. This very rich for the locale specimen is covered with tiny royal-blue botryoids on the oxide-tinted quartz-rich matrix. Specimens of this richness and quality are RARE from here. Ex Schneider Collection.
