Item Description
Striking clusters and isolated azurite "suns" form a very aesthetic and colorful large specimen from recent finds in Australia. The large isolated azurite on the right is 3.3 cm across. The flattened rosettes, with two colors of blue and moderate luster, look great against the sculptural layered kaolinite siltstone matrix.The azurite rims around the mounded crystallized interiors really add character. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinized siltstone. The aggregates were forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. An excellent large and rich matrix piece with multiple "suns".
