Item Description

This small cabinet specimen is a classic example of the unique and well-known Azurite "suns" from the Malbunka Copper Mine in Australia. The interesting and distinctive form of the Azurite is best associated with this locality. This Azurites are essentially semi-layered, rich blue colored, compressed "rosettes" which forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner on kaolinite matrix. The largest "sun" measures 1.5 cm across. I don't think there is another Azurite locality in the world which produces them quite like this.
