Azurite "Sun" (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous Azurite "Suns" from the renowned Malbunka Copper Mine in the Northern Territory of Australia. The piece shows the classic semi-flattened-"rosette" form that is commonly associated with these specimens. It's in great shape all around, and really looks beautiful on all side. The back of the piece shows a thin layer of silvery-beige Kaolinite (the label calls it calcareous siltstone). These specimens are not as common as they once were about 10 years ago, so be sure to pick this one up if you collect secondary ore minerals or minerals of Australia.
