Item Description

An exceptional, aesthetic and colorful azurite "sun" small cabinet specimen from recent Australian finds. The striking 4.8 cn flattened rosette, with two beautiful colors of blue (royal-blue interior and navy-blue rim) and good luster, looks great against the kaolinite siltstone matrix. The well-defined azurite rim around the crystallized interior really add character. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinite. The aggregate was forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. From the collection of the mine owner, Dehne McLaughlin, so you know it's good. A superb matrix piece amongst competition that is just nice.
