Item Description
A dramatic, aesthetic and colorful specimen of an azurite "sun" from recent Australian finds. The 4.1 cm flattened layered rosette, with beautiful royal-blue color and matte luster, looks great against the kaolinite siltstone matrix. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinized siltstone. The aggregates were forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. An excellent and sculptural matrix piece.
