Item Description
Beautiful, lustrous, royal-blue azurite crystals form a classic rosette or ball from the famous Santa Rita (Chino) Mine of New Mexico, well-known for excellent spinel-twinned copper specimens. Azurite is SUPER-RARE from here, making this is a superb old-time example from the mine. Complete all-around and pristine. The attachment is at the base. It looks like classic Bisbee, but it's not. Ex University of Arizona and Kay Robertson Collection # 1424. She acquired the piece in 1959. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the New Mexico or species collector.
