Item Description

The large open pit Chengmenshan Mine in China is probably best-known for its Copper and Cuprite specimens, but a very small amount of fine quality Azurite "roses" have been found there, and this piece is certainly one of the best examples we've had to offer. These are much rarer than their counterparts from the Liufengshan Mine, and if you collect secondary ore minerals, copper bearing species, worldwide Azurites or Chinese minerals, this is a great opportunity to get your hands on something that is almost never seen for sale on the market these days. This piece is nearly a complete "floater" as it's crystallized all the way around, with only a few minor bruises, and it's loaded with sharp, rather lustrous, deep midnight blue bladed crystals creating the classic "rose" form for which the species is known.
