Item Description

It's incredibly hard to get your hands on a specimen of Azurite from this well-known copper mine, which is honestly best known for its cuprite specimens in recent years. This gorgeous thumbnail sized near "floater" specimen is filled with thin blades of very lustrous, rich royal blue Azurite that have formed a fantastic "rose"-like specimen. The color, quality and form are all excellent for the loclaity. I haven't seen many of these specimens on the market recently, and I was told that there was heavy mining through the oxidation zone here, which hosts the secondary copper minerals, so we may never seen these pieces again. From the worldwide thumbnail collection of Irv Brown.
