Item Description

The famous Azurite from Morenci, Arizona rank highly among the finest ever found in any locality in Grand Canyon State. In most people's opinions, they are collectively only second in the rankings in terms of quality to the classic specimens from Bisbee. This piece is a fine quality, "rose"-shaped group consisting of dark blue color, sharp, well-formed, "wedge"-shaped crystals of Azurite, free of matrix, making it a complete "floater". There is a tiny bit of oxidation on the surface (possibly iron oxide?) to create a contrast against the deep blue color of the Azurite crystals. A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide Azurite or minerals of Arizona. Priced at $750 in the inventory. You don't see many good Morenci Azurites on the market today.
