Item Description

Azurite is EXTREMELY RARE from ANY of the mostly base metal deposits of Peru! The rich blue colors of azurite on this sturdy, sculptural gossan matrix crust explode off of this piece! The gorgeous rich violet botryoids scintillate in bright light and the powder-blue veinlets are a super compliment. It is as good as ANY Bisbee specimen! MINDAT does not list azurite from this locality except for one specimen we obtained in an old collection over a decade ago. This was an exciting NEW FIND from the oxidized zone of the same deposit, surely - but we do not yet have an exact mine name. Stay tuned to see if more comes out...
