Item Description
A rarely seen, and rather attractive specimen from a discovery in July 2022 in the Tasikmalaya Regency of the West Java Province of Indonesia. These pieces were the first specimens of Azurite that we've seen from any locality in Indonesia. We've seen copper silicates, or at least copper-bearing silicates from various localities in Indonesia recently, but secondary copper carbonates like Azurite were unheard of to the best of my knowledge, prior to this discovery. This piece hosts attractive, sparkling, rich blue colored crystals of Azurite forming semi-"rosette"-shaped groups associated with a tiny bit of green Malachite on oxidized matrix. The Azurites looks great up close, and we have photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality. If you collect Azurites, secondary ore minerals, or if you're just a fan of minerals from uncommon localities, do not pass this one up.
