Azurite (rare locale) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

An interesting toenail sized specimen from an undisclosed locality in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The label doesn't give a more specific locality, but it's honestly the FIRST piece of Azurite that I think we've seen from this state. Fine, sharp, small, brilliant blue colored Azurite crystals can be seen on both sides of the specimen associated with medium green botryoidal Malachite and what appears to be a bit of Cerussite as I found one six-sided twin on the piece. If you collect copper minerals, secondary ore minerals, or minerals of Mexico, don't miss out on this rare locality specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5161). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
