This is not just any azurite crystal - it is a rare GEM crystal with facetable yield, totally transparent throughout, when backlit. The form is so sharp, it looks machined, literally one of the most perfect azurite crystals we have seen. This is an OLD style, very rare, from Tsumeb. There is gem rough in this crystal. It is a shocking color of blue, when given good lighting, and gram for gram of the absolute finest quality Tsumeb or anywhere ever produced for this species. Milpillas has produced thousands of specimens recently, but nothing truly gem, in this size and condition, like we see here. It is an exceptional example of the finest quality of old Tsumeb azurites with a 2.6 x 1.8 x 1.0 cm highly lustrous, sharply terminated electric-blue crystal, with a sharp-edged 1.7 cm azurite crystal penetrating the major crystal on its left side. When held up to light in person, it is mesmerizing. 1 cm tall azurite gem crystals can sell for easily $4500-10,000. This is a full thumbnail, over an inch. It should have been published by now, but simply has not been seen by many people as yet. Spectacular in person. Valued $2500-plus.
