This item is part of a special benefit auction for the Rice Museum of Rocks & Minerals (ricenorthwestmuseum.org). Items are either deaccessions from the museum's collection or were donated by generous supporters listed below.

An old style, from this important location, with incredibly saturated blue crystals of a blade-shape, to 1 cm. The color is simply shocking. The crystals are flat-laying and in some places cover 'knolls' of this lightweight matrix, and there is some damage to be sure, but the color and the look of it are very interesting and unique in style. These only turn up time to time in very old collections. Dates from the late 1800s.
