Item Description

A rare and outstanding old-time azurite specimen with isolated tabular blades and an uncommon association of starkly contrasting partially oxide-coated psilomelane botryoids from the famous Copper Queen Mine. The highly lustrous, sharply edged, compound navy-blue blades, to 2.2 cm, have striking electric-blue areas under bright light. The bit of noted modest edge wear to the crystals is certainly only a minimal detraction to this exceptional two-sided small cabinet plate, that certainly dates to prior to World War I. A Bisbee specialist dealer would have this priced at $1000-2000 at major shows, EASILY. It is razor sharp and quite characteristic in person!.
