Item Description

A classic combo specimen from this prestigious Moroccan locale featuring fine quality, prismatic, "sword"-shaped crystals of Azurite measuring up to 3.1 cm long, sitting on soft peach colored rhombic Dolomite matrix. The Azurites have a deep midnight blue color, and with some strong backlighting, you can see gemmy vivid indigo hues in small areas. The Azurites are partially pseudomorphing to velvey / chatoyant deep forest-green colored Malachite, creating one of the great associations in the mineral world. There are some broken areas on the piece, it's not damage free, but certain areas are in great condition and the piece looks nice both on the shelf and up close. The Azurites from Touissit are some of the finest quality crystals of the species ever found, and when you get showy matrix display specimens like this, you have something that is difficult to match from almost anywhere else in the world.
