Item Description
A beautiful small cabinet display specimen from Morenci, one of the great copper localities in all of Arizona, famous for its fine Azurites and Malachites. This specimen features fine quality, eye-catching layered "rose"-shaped groups consisting of lustrous, tabular crystals of midnight blue Azurite that is starting to pseudomorph to forest-green Malachite, sitting on matrix. Minor roughness in spots, but no major damage on the display side. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm. A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide pseudomorphs or minerals of Arizona. Valued $750. You don't nearly as many good Morenci pieces on the market today as opposed to 20+ years ago. This piece was mined in the 1980s and comes from the collection of Stan Esbenshade.
