Item Description
These specimens will go down as classics for their impressive size, quality and sheer beauty. They rank right along with the best from Bisbee, Touissit and Tsumeb. This miniature specimen hosts several good quality sharp, dark midnight blue (electric blue when backlit) crystal of Azurite which are beautifully partially pseudomorphing to velvety / chatoyant green Malachite on host rock matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.4 cm. The piece was honestly difficult to photograph and looks better in person. For the most part, there is little damage, but you can see some small nicks and chips here and there, so it isn't 100% damage free. If you've always wanted to get your hand on one of these impressive pieces from Milpillas, don't miss out as there will be very few in the years to come. It has now been confirmed that the oxidized zone at Milpillas is finished and we may never see these specimens again. Whenever a significant locality closes for good, the value of good specimens almost always increases.
