Azurite pocket (old classic circa early 1900s)

A sculptural large old-time Bisbee specimen with several azurite pockets showing you how these were once found at this richest of copper mines, circa 1900. The impressive large 9.0 cm deep vug in the "front" (actually a cave with an opening on the back to a smaller 6.0 cm pocket on the back) is mostly lined with scintillating spherical aggregates of tiny navy-blue azurite crystals, that GLOW with "electric-blue" color under bright light. Very interesting and colorful secondary coatings of powder-blue and royal azurite turn the aggregates in the front of the pocket into botryoids. The shallow 8.5 cm vug on the back is lined with more scintillating navy-blue azurite. The matrix crust is mostly azurite with some malachite. A fine large Bisbee azurite of this varietal is really rare these days, and this is a pretty specimen , with unusual secondary azurite overgrowths to make it stand out.
