Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of Azurite from the Yanga Koubenza Quarries in the Mfouati District of Republic of the Congo. This area has been producing some very attractive secondary ore minerals in recent years, but good crystallized Azurite are few and far between. This particular specimen is a showy miniature featuring beautiful strong blue colored crystals of Azurite measuring up to 6 mm, which are coating an underlying later of golden colored Smithsonite. This is one of the VERY few specimens of Azurite we've had to offer from this locality, and it's a showy display piece, with no damage I can find. A choice piece for any fan of worldwide Azurites or copper / secondary ore minerals.
