Azurite on Malachite ex Jack Halpern Collection

From the well-known La Sal Mining District, this colorful miniature features vivid, royal-blue Azurite sitting on a pedestal of bright green Malachite. Not only is the color contrast very attractive, it is nice to find a good La Sal piece in this particular size range as most are bigger and there are just few miniatures, for whatever reason, from these classic finds (mostly in the 1980s but some few before and after, apparently). Previously in the collection of Gene Wright.
