Azurite on Malachite

Morenci Mine malachite and azurite specimens are an Arizona classic and this large, sculptural and excellent combination plate is a fine example. Banded, botryoidal malachite is very richly peppered with tiny, pretty blue azurite botryoids and a second generation of tiny, complimentary malachite botryoids. A nifty vug on the back hosts larger azurite and malachite botryoids. The modest periphery wear is noted, but actually reveals the banding of the malachite. Very showy and classic Morenci. From noted Arizona field collectors Dick Morris and Mark Hay. Valued at $2000.
