Beautiful, lustrous, integrown, rich royal-blue, bladed azurite rosettes richly and aesthetically cover the undulating surface of the contrasting malachite matrix on this very fine and showy specimen from recent finds at the Liufengshan Mine of China. The azurite rosettes on this piece are excellent and this a very highly representative azurite of this style, that we have offered at auction from this locale. A bit of bruising is noted, but is a modest detraction to this showy piece. Chinese azurites of this quality compare very favorably with Bisbee material. High praise. Valued at $500-600.
