Azurite on Fluorite (fluorescent)

Item Description

This is a rare, rich, and colorful combination piece from the Clara Mine, a historic Black Forest locality that opened in 1726. The deeply colored, botryoidal Azurite is two-toned, and almost velvety in appearance. The Azurite covers a good deal of the presentation side, and much of this beautiful Azurite rests on pastel-green, highly-fluorescent Fluorite. This particular pairing is quite uncommon for the Clara Mine, and the aesthetics are quite nice simply for the vivid volors and appealing texture. Formerly in the E. Lindemann collection, this was #3802 in Kay's collection.
