Azurite on Dickite

This is a piece with geometric perfection, and a lustrous, razor sharp crystal rising from a matrix of contrasting white. The crystal is 3.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm, and perfectly freestanding. Milpillas of course produced thousands of azurite specimens in its brief run, but very very few occured on white, and the blue on white is, to me, the most sophisticated and stark contrast of all finds here. This came out around 2012-2013 and, for balance and poise, must rank highly. It is complete but for one ding, which is exaggerated on purpose in the photo, and you will see not easily visible at all in the video. Gene Meieran at that time collected silvers, quartz, gem crystals, single crystals, and Afghani/Pakistani, Brazilian suites etc etc. He had absolutely no justification for buying this at the time it came out, and no suite to rationalize putting it into, for the collection. He bought it anyways because "it was awesome" in his words! He could not help it because he is addicted to beautiful minerals...and had the exciting chance to buy it from his friend Wayne Thompson within hours of its arrival in the USA. It has remained in a drawer since, and needs to find a new home now. It is super displayable for this style of Milpillas azurite, and should be valued highly.
