Item Description
A nice minature size specimen from the Grandview Mine, which actually was an operating mine within the Grand Canyon. The mine is long defunct, but when specimens were being recovered, they were some of the most incredible, and brightly colored specimens from Arizona, or anywhere else for that matter. This specimen is filled with beautiful bladed groups of deep midnight blue Azurite sitting atop sky blue radiating aggregates of Chalcoalumite matrix. You can see that we provided some great close up photos taken with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro to show what these crystals look like under magnification. Please note that there have been virtually NO specimens from this locality available on the market for a very long time. This is a very rare opportunity to own a unique and attractive species from one of the more interesting localities in the United States. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6926). Priced at $400. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
