Old-time Tsumeb azurites have great appeal to mineral collectors and well they should. This is an impressive diverging cluster of blocky, highly lustrous, royal-blue to midnight-blue azurite crystals set on matrix. The striking wall of stout, angled compound crystals is 4.5 cm across. This wall is complete all-around and PRISTINE, as the terminations are contacted slightly but have no damage, per se. Hidden in the cleft between the clusters is an INCREDIBLE, 1.0 cm x 1 mm, gem, "electric-blue" azurite of the very best Tsumeb quality. There are also many scattered flashes of electric-blue under strong light, on edges. The wall is striking and this is a significant old-timer from this most renowned locality. As well, the backlit photo really highlights the gorgeous blue gemmy edges of a stunning little 1 cm crystal perched in a protected crevasse. Valued $2500.
