Item Description
Classic material from Bisbee featuring sharp, lustrous, midnight blue layered crystal groups of Azurite measuring up to 1.7 cm long sit on oxidized matrix with minor associated botryoidal Malachite. A little damage can be seen, but the piece is pretty three-dimensional and looks good from a few angles. The piece dates back many decades and even has a bit of an "old time" appearance to it. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4708). The label accompanying the piece states that it is from the Dr. Foster collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
