Item Description

Highly lustrous, translucent, azurite crystals, to 2.0 cm, have gorgeous, rich "electric-blue" color under bright light. The azurites are attractively scattered on the large matrix covered with chatoyant velvet malachite sprays and malachite pseudomorphs after azurite crystals. The hefty matrix is composed of granular cuprite and gossan. Showy, highly representative large material from a New Find at this less well-known gold and copper mine in Laos. Mass is 773 grams or 1.7 pounds. Actually, I saw these start to trickle out a few years ago. Many came to the market in China, but of lower quality. They remain scarce for now.
