Item Description
A colorful and aesthetic combination plate from the old Shannon Mine area at Morenci. This underground mine only produced from 1902 to 1918. Light blue, bladed azurite rosettes with a matte finish are beautifully and richly scattered on the field of smaller, lustrous, malachite botryoids. Lustrous, dark purple botryoids of an unknown mineral (goethite or coronadite?) are a fine compliment to the blue and green. Undoubtably older material, but no proof.
