Azurite & Malachite cabochon ( 12 grams)

Item Description

Beautiful, rich azure-blue to nearly electric-blue, banded azurite with "eyes" is strikingly surrounded by a narrow stringer of banded malachite with on this sculptural, highly polished, striking and very fine cabochon. I really like the way the teardrop form of the cabochon mimics the malachite banding. The rhyolite matrix on the back adds character. Classic, old-time (1980s) and excellent material from the noted Morenci Mine. Mass is 12 grams or 60 carats.
