Item Description
Lustrous, blocky, navy-blue to royal-blue, azurite crystals, to 1.5 cm, are aesthetically set on the sculptural azurite boxwork matrix. The malachite coatings add color and contrast. All sides show sharp cavities in the azurite matrix, that are probably casts after dissolved away azurite crystals. Fascinating, probably old-time combination material from the Upper Oxidized Zone of the renowned Tsumeb Mine. Comes with an old Sid Pieters' House of Gems label. He was THE most prominent Namibian (Southwest Africa) mineral dealer in the 1970s and 80s.
