Beautiful cornflower-blue azurite orbs are embedded on all sides of the granite matrix on this colorful, most unusual and RARE azurite in granite specimen from Pakistan. These come from the K2 area, the world's second tallest mountain. Trade names include: K2 Granite; K2 Jasper; and raindrop azurite. The quartz, albite and minor mica granite matrix has been confirmed by x-ray diffraction (MINDAT). The azurite is a secondary oxidation product after the granite solidified from the parent melt.
