Item Description

A lovely historic Azurite specimen from one of the most classic localities in all of Europe, and the type locality for Azurite (which was originally called Chessylite). Typically the Azurite specimens from Chessy are found in less than desirable crystals, but this piece is an actual GROUP of sharp, well defined, semi lustrous, midnight blue, blocky Azurite crystals. It is very difficult for collectors to obtain fine quality specimens of this material today, and the fact that this piece hosts multiple crystals makes even more desirable. This specimen was mined in the early 1800s, so it's nearly 200 years old! A great specimen for any collector, a collector of European classics, or anyone who appreciates Azurite.
