Item Description
This is a fantastic small cabinet display specimen of Azurite on Malachite from the prolific Liufengshan mine. It features several razor-sharp, hihgly lustrous, somewhat gemmy, blocky, midnight blue Azurite crystals up to 1.4 cm which are intermixed with light mint green color, velvety botryoidal Malachite on gossan matrix. The color contrast is just beautiful and truly resembles classic material from Bisbee, Arizona. The luster really stands out on the piece, and is as lustrous as any Chinese Azurite I have seen. The crystals are incredibly well formed, with beuautifully smooth faces, and is not unlike the superb Azurites from localities like Tsumeb or Touissit. The specimen displays well and really draws one's attention. For a specimen of this size, it is very showy and is one of the better pieces in this size range that I have offered in the auctions. These specimens are commanding high prices, even from the Chinese dealers. Valued at $1100. Difficult to photograph and BETTER IN PERSON.
