Azurite (GEM crystals - classic locality)

Item Description

Concepción del Oro is a famous copper deposit in Mexico, renowned for minerals like impressive well-crystallized sulfides, excellent Scorodites and even some fine specimens of Azurite. This small cabinet size piece hosts a coverage of superb quality, HIGHLY lustrous, intense blue colored thin prismatic crystals of Azurite associated with minor Malachite on matrix. The largest crystal measures about 6 mm, so they're not huge, but they are beautiful up close, and we've photographed them with a macro lens to better illustrate the quality. As you can see, the crystals are VERY GEMMY when backlit, virtually transparent in some cases. Overall it's a very eye-catching example of this seldom seen material. The piece comes with a label from Les Presmyk / De Natura.
