Item Description

Morenci is famous for its wonderful Azurite specimens. These are some of the best examples of the species from anywhere in Arizona, which is really saying something, as there are hundreds of localities in the Grand Canyon State were Azurite has been reported. This miniature sized piece dates back to the 1980s and is a thick, "rose"-shaped group consisting of many blocky, sharp, distinct, rich midnight blue color crystals of Azurite, free of matrix. There is a slightly reflective and almost "satiny" luster on the surface that looks beautiful when the piece is rotated in the light. The piece is crystallized on all sides, with no major damage that I can find, so I am calling this one a complete "floater". A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide Azurite or minerals of Arizona. Priced at $1,500 in the inventory.
