Item Description

A classic display specimen of Azurite from the world famous locality of Touissit. This piece consists of a group of fine quality, deep midnight azure color, rather luster, thin, bladed crystals which are oriented into "fan"-like clusters free of matrix. Like many Azurites from Touissit, the edges of crystals glow with an electric indigo color when backlit. The largest individual crystal measures 2.8 cm. The piece overall crystal is in superb condition, but a few small imperfections can be seen. A great piece to round out your Azurite suite, or even more specifically your collection of Azurites from Morocco. The piece can be displayed from a few directions. This piece dates back to the late 1970s, and similar quality specimens haven't been found from Touissit in decades. Priced at $2,000 in the inventory. A great overall piece from this locality.
