Item Description

A showy and aesthetic display quality miniature featuring a pair of intergrown layered Azurite crystals groups free of matrix. The crystals are fine quality with sharp, well-formed faces and a rich midnight blue (electric blue when backlit). Minor green associated Malachite can be seen on select faces. There are a few TINY nicks that I can see, but overall the piece is fine shape, and most of the crystals are damage free. Hard to photograph and better in person! This locality is well-known for producing some of the finest quality Azurite specimens in the world, ranking up there with places like Bisbee, Touissit and Tsumeb in terms of quality. If you have been wanting one of these spectacular pieces from Milpillas, don't miss out on getting a good one like this for a great price. We're told that the oxidized zone at Milpillas is finished and will most likely never produce these specimens again, so the value of good specimens will only increase as the years go by.
