The famed Milpillas Azurite speicmens are simply are the best contemporary examples of the species out there. The Milpillas Mine for a brief time yielded some of the finest quality examples of the species ever seen with some of the sharpest, most lustrous and richly colored (often gemmy) crystals of Azurite from any world locality. Sadly, the oxidized zone at this mine is gone, and there will likely never be another crumb of this material to come out of this prolific locality again. With that said, if you're a fan of Azurites or specifically these pieces from Milpillas, don't miss out on this attractive specimen, as they will be disappearing from the market fairly quickly. The piece is filled with excellent quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, intense midnight blue crystals of Azurite sitting on a thin layer of matrix. The majority of the Azurite crystals are pristine, though there are a few tiny imperfections, and the only "damage" is around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. The luster is very high for the species and that deep saturated color of the Azurite is a truly captivating. The crystals honestly look better in person than the video indicates.
