Item Description

An attractive large thumbnail Azurite specimen from the famous Milpillas Mine in Mexico. These piece will go down as some of the finest examples of the species in history. It will point out that it's significant to make a statement about such a common mineral, but there is not debate that some of the best Azurites in the world comes from this mine. The oxidized zone at Milpillas is completely mined out, so we will never see any more of these amazing specimens. I'm sure you've noticed that they have quickly dried up from the market in recent years, and they will surely appreciate in value over time. This is an attractive display specimen featuring fine quality, sharp, rather lustrous, deep blue crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm, and no real matrix. No major damage and really eye-catching. With strong backlighting, a vivid indigo hue can be seen piercing through the edges, which is rare as most Azurites don't pass light when backlit.
