Item Description
Here we have a hard-to-find Azurite specimen from the classic Cole Mine (Cole Shaft) in Bisbee. The piece features excellent quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, deep royal-blue Azurite "rosettes" measuring up to 1.0 cm sitting aesthetically on Limonite matrix. The isolation between the "rosettes" is excellent, and hard to find in this material, as they are often terribly intergrown. A few tiny imperfections that I can see with the naked eye, but really fine quality. Valued at $1200. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12964). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
