Azurite (excellent quality)

Here we have a superb quality and very showy display specimen of these now classic Azurites from the famous contemporary locality at the Milpillas Mine. Although the mine is recently finished, these specimens are certainly regarded now as classics for their superior quality, crystallization and displayability. This piece features excellent, very sharp, incredibly lustrous, deep glowing blue, stepped crystals of Azurite measuring up to 2.9 cm associated with very minor Malachite on a thin layer of matrix. The Azurite crystals are slightly gemmy near the edges when backlit. Most of the crystals are complete undamaged, though a couple of the secondary crystals have minor imperfections. Again, the quality is really good and pieces of this caliber will be very difficult to obtain (especially for good prices) in the years to come. The specimens are some of the best crystallized Azurite from any world locality. The piece was priced in the inventory at $2,500.
