Item Description
Azurite from Tsumeb is one of the most classic and highly sought after species on the planet. These specimens are no longer being mined, and they have some of the most distinctive and attractive forms of any mineral. This piece features several sharp, very lustrous, deep blue color, elongated prismatic crystals of Azurite measuring up to 1.6 cm on matrix. A worthwhile large minaiture / small cabinet specimen, and fairly good quality for this historic locality. Tsumeb specimens are rising in value by the minute it seems, so don't miss out. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
