Item Description
A classic display specimen of Azurite from the world famous locality of Touissit. A diverging pair of rich, azure blue prismatic crystals with superb luster and razor sharp faces make this miniature specimen a top tier Azurite from this well-known deposit in the desert of Morocco. No damage that I can see to either of the main crystals, but the smaller crystal wedges in the center is contacted. The piece is incredibly aesthetic and displays beautifully on the FREE custom lucite base that accompanies the specimen. Valued in the inventory at $3,500. A great higher end specimen to add to your Azurite suite, or even more generally a collection of secondary ore minerals or species from Morocco. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
